The story of the chairs..

So, one morning I drove past a garage sale and saw 2 chairs that looked cute. I was already late for work, so I didn't stop. However, on my way home they were still out there, but close to the curb. I couldn't tell if they were left out for the taking or what. So, I stopped and knocked on the door of the house- no answer. I didn't know what to do!! So, I saw a price ($5/pair) on the chairs. I put $5 and a note in the front door of the house and took the chairs.

Before:

I removed the seats, painted it white (accidently used metal primer, oops!!) and got some outdoor fabric on clearance...

Rylee's "Utter"ly Amazing Party

My friend Keri just threw an barnyard party for her daughter, Rylee. Keri's attention to detail was impeccable.

Keri found a company that had a barnyard theme mini bouncer!

This was my favorite part! Keri got risers that had wagon wheels on each side (I wish I took more pics!) off of Ebay. There were a ton of items with adorable custom signs. Each child got "money" and could buy their party favors which they put in to...

...metal buckets with a bandana liner. Keri embroidered the liners with each kids name. This totally put me over the edge with wanting my own machine!

All of the drinks were served from the lemonade stand...

in adorable mason jars

Dessert was cake, cupcakes, pies and cookies- OH MY!

Here's my little one enjoying her cupcake!!

Great job, Keri!!

Porch Swing..

We have a great swing on our porch, but it was looking a little "blah"... I had a spare 30 minutes while the baby napped, so I whipped this up with some leftover burlap and a stencil I made with my Cricut.

I think it needs more color. I might make covers for the brown pillows... or maybe paint them with some fabric paint. Ya just never know.

So there was this wall...

When you walk in our front door, you walk into a living room. The problem is, that's about all we did in it- walk through it to the kitchen or the den. It was sort of a dark room and we rarely used it... Since everyone we know seems to enjoy piling into the kitchen, we decided to make that room part of the kitchen!
Here's the before:
(what you saw when you walked in the front door)

(From the kitchen side- I forgot to snap the pic before we started emptying cabinets)

IN PROGRESS:

The hubby and Handyman Al working!

Stay tuned for the grand reveal!

What a SURPRISE!!

Today, a co-worker's husband dropped off some goodies to me! They live in a VERY old house and she found this stuff in her basement:
An egg basket with some old glass milk bottles...

A box of mason jars- with blue tints!! OH MY, it must be CHRISTMAS!! And there are all different sizes!!!! I am so excited I almost forgot to tell you that a very important wall came down in our house today. Who cares about walls when you have blue mason jars!

The entryway is complete... for now!

So, here it is! Tell me what ya think :)

For the hooks, I simply stained a piece of pine and screwed them in. The lanterns were from Goodwill, I spotted them when I was dropped off clothes for a donation!! The middle piece (I will take close up in the daylight) is the fronts from 4 greetings cards. My friend, Lisa, gave me a box of cards for my birthday a couple years ago and I never used them because I loved them so much! I stained a piece of wood and mod podged them on. The bench is from a local woodworker, it opens up and stores all of our hats, gloves, etc.  The baskets are from Michaels (gotta love those 50% coupons!). One basket houses all of the dog items (collars, leashes, bones) and the other is for library books.

I entered this in the Pottery Barn Knock-off contest.. Check it out for some amazing projects

S is for Superman... S is for Shane... S is for SUPER DADDY!

Today we celebrated Shane's 2nd Father's Day!

I ordered this cute Superman themed party-pack from Parties By Hardie . The Superman gift bag is from Wal-mart (and held an XM Radio, if you were wondering). The red baskets, which contained a great dessert were from the dollar-spot in Target!

I used iron-on transfer paper to make Caileigh this cute onesie (which stayed clean for a record breaking 5 minutes)

Fries = Sugar cookies
Burger = Cupcakes and brownies!
Thanks for another great idea, Bakerella!
